KOAR ("we", "our", "the app") is a strength training application for iOS and Apple Watch. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights.
Workout and training data. Exercises performed, sets, reps, weights, RPE, rest times, workout duration, and program configuration. This data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced across your devices via Apple iCloud (CloudKit). We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Wellness check-in data. Self-reported energy, sleep quality, and stress levels entered before each workout. This data is stored locally and via iCloud only.
Apple HealthKit data. With your explicit permission, KOAR reads and writes the following HealthKit data types:
HealthKit data is used solely to calibrate workout intensity, display live heart rate during exercise, and log completed workouts to your health record. HealthKit data is never transferred off your device, never sent to our servers, never sold, and never used for advertising. This is enforced by Apple's HealthKit guidelines.
AI workout generation. When you use the AI Workout Generator feature, the text prompt you enter and your profile settings (fitness level, goal, equipment, training days, session duration) are sent to our server to generate a workout plan. We do not store your prompts or generated plans on our server. The request is processed and immediately discarded.
Rep detection training data (opt-in). If you enable "Contribute to Rep Detection" in Settings, anonymized accelerometer and gyroscope data recorded by the Apple Watch during your sets is uploaded to our server to improve rep counting accuracy. This data contains only motion sensor readings, exercise name, and rep count. It does not contain any personally identifiable information, HealthKit data, or account information. This feature is off by default and requires explicit opt-in. Data is uploaded only over Wi-Fi.
Subscription and purchase data. Subscription status is managed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information, credit card numbers, or Apple ID credentials.
All workout data, settings, and progression history are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. If you enable iCloud sync, this data syncs across your Apple devices using Apple CloudKit. Apple encrypts this data in transit and at rest. We cannot access your iCloud data.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties. The only network requests KOAR makes are to our AI workout generation server (when you explicitly use that feature) and to our rep detection training server (only if you opt in). No personal data is included in either request.
Since all data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account, you have full control over it. Deleting the app removes all local data. To remove iCloud data, you can do so through your device's iCloud storage settings.
KOAR is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
